The Different Chain Types in Gold Jewelry Designs

If you have been paying attention to gold jewelry designs, you will know that there are a lot of chain types. Some chains are best worn with pendants while some chains are best worn without any embellishments or anything dangling from them. Here are some of the more common chain types that you will see in gold jewelry designs.

Box Chain: The chain is not in the shape of a box — but its links are! Tiny box-shaped golden links are interlinked to make this chain. You can wear this with or without a pendant. However, this chain looks better when worn with a pendant.

Cable Chain: If you have ever seen a necklace that looks classy and classic, odds are that necklace has a cable chain. A cable chain has oval links that instantly jazz up any ensemble.

Marine Chain: Oval links with either a post or a bar centered vertically between every link are connected to make the marine chain. Don’t be surprised if this chain reminds you of the standard oval chain — it’s exactly like the standard oval, except that it looks more elaborate.

Rope Chain: It wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to guess what this chain looks like. The rope chain is perhaps the most common of all, and it looks best with a pendant on it.
